About LCRRP
The Lexington County Community Remembrance Project (LCCRP) is a growing coalition working to remember the victims of racial terror lynchings in Lexington County. CRPs work under the mentorship of the Equal Justice Initiative, a nonprofit and legal advocacy organization located in Alabama and established by Bryan Stevenson. The core tasks of a CRP are erecting historical markers, coordinating essay contests for students, and gathering soil collections in memory of individuals. The LCCRP also works to engage community members in education, reflection, and discussion through events such as film viewings and community gatherings.
